In close quarters range, Nailgun can land each of the nails shot, making its proc rate and base damage about 75% as good as Saw, so Nailgun certainly has the best synergy with Saw. This way you can deal with long range enemies with Nailgun, and destroy everything else very quickly with Saw. The best loadout, in my opinion, would be Nailgun on the main slot, and saw as the secondary. Nailgun has the best DPS out of the ranged weapons, especially in closer range, but it's probably the best weapon at medium range too. I still wouldn't recommend double saw though, since if your teammate dies, you're likely screwed. It melts bosses quickly so double saw is actually an option, if you're on multiplayer so someone else can deal with flying enemies. Anyone who thinks that Saw is trash hasn't seen its proc rate, which is 1, while Saw hits 10 times per second. Two nailguns with power mode is even better and if you're lucky enough to get the behemoth and the the on-use from the electric elite it gets crazy. MUL-T has a 0.6 multiplier for item procs using its Auto-Nailgun due to its very high rate of fire. For long range shots, the Rebar Puncher is far more effective. MUL-T is an aggressive survivor who has the tools necessary for any job MUL-T's Auto-Nailgun has a very high spread, limiting its effective range against anything but larger bosses. Do note that due to the 0.6 proc coefficient on the nailgun, you need 17 daggers to have 100 proc rate on bleeds. MUL-T is a new character in Risk of Rain 2. Saw is actually really good thanks to the 200 armor! With a couple of healing items, you'll be able to tank almost anything while using Saw. Mul-T is good with Maxed crit, bleeds and shatterspleen if you use the nailgun. Otherwise, it's good for the first couple stages, then falls off compared to other weapons. I imagine it could work on multiplayer, however, if you give all the attack speed weapons to your teammate. Scrap Launcher isn't great, because without Retool, when you get more attack speed you don't actually do any more damage per second since the reload time remains the same. Only good if you really want long ranged damage, which you don't really need since most enemies won't attack you at such a long range. Well, Rebar has the worst DPS out of all weapons without Retool. So what weapons best utilize this, considering retool is no longer an option? 200 armor means you only take a third of the usual damage, plus you can use two weapons at once which results in double damage.
